She made her fortune through selling to the cosmetics products and services. But these are products which manufactured by her earlier generations people and that was Eugene Schueller who was her maternal grandfather. Before we go further and know more about Francoise Bettencourt Meyers, we should have to know firstly how Eugene Schueller laid to the foundation of the L'Oreal.
Eugene Schueller full name was Eugene Paul Louis Schueller who was born in paris in 1881, his parents were pastry workers, he was good in studies and got top grade in all subjects, also he helped to his parents for their work. And in 1990 he went to the Institute of Applied Chemistry & completed to his graduation in 1904, take position as laboratory assistant at the Sarbon which were seem like university researcher, then 1 day large barger shop owner visited to the lab and ask for the help to make synthetic hair dye and at that time dye was not used much by the French women due to its toxicity but soon he left his technical advisor post from the barber but GET an idea and started to work by own in the rented property nearly Tuileries gardens he was experimenting his own hair dye but failed again & again BUT got succeed after 2 years.
In 1909 he started to the company name called The Societe Francaise De Teinteures Inoffensives Pour Cheveux which means as safe hair dye company of france, and soon changed company's name to the Loreal. The company which established from 2 bedrooms appartment where Dying room was served as Demonstration room & Bedroom room was served as Laboratory. As a solo entreprenuer he did all the work in the night he manufacture to the product & in the day he completed to the orders. Soon his day & night work bring the results to him and converted his rented bedroom company to the biggest company.
In 1910 he sold to the product in Italy & Austria and in 1914 he soon captured new markets and those are Hungary, Germany, Belgium, Netherlands, Switzerland & Russia. But soon he also take acquisitions decisions but after World War 1 and soon diversify and make investments in Hair Lotions & Lipisticks.
But the every company face ups & downs and the company soon faced to be the Great Depression where he came up with new idea which we called now THE PROPORTIONAL SALARY where the salary of the worker should be proportionate according to the Production. This was the way to survive in the depression and soon the company launched to the nw product which they called Ambre Solaire a sun's cream which boosted their sales because French people were heading towards the beaches more & more.
But every person left to this world and he left to this world in 1957 at the age of 76 So we can tell that that Eugene Schueller was the man of action & creative spirit. after his death all the things which he own get by his daughter through heritage and whose name was Liliane Bettencourt who was born on 1922 and she was the only child of the Eugene Schueller where she joined Loreal at the age of 15 and done apprenticeship where she done labelling & mixing to the products and many things in the company and own life. But at the age of 35 after losing to her father she got the Loreal's Empire. She was hardworker & creative lady and known for the discipline, when she was in 80s she suffered from Demensia to cure that disease she walk many kilometers and keep to the body in shape. But she also left to this world at the age of 94.
Francoise Bettencourt Meyers who was born on July-10-1953 in France, she is the only daughter of the multi-billionaire businesswoman Liliane Bettencourt & French politician Andre Bettencourt, she was the introvert child which brings her love towards books, literature & history. But the things not settled here she also loved to play Piano and stay out from the glamourous parties which her parents mostly organized & joined. She spent most of her time to study & learn mythology, religion scriptures. She studied geneology in college.
After completing to their studies she joined to the L'Oreal Labs where she spent so much time in those labs also learn so much from their. Later she joined International Union for Conservation of Nature for the exhibition and organizing to the library where she also spent her 5 years of life, where she met so many people and connect with them.
